Ally J Ward is a self described dumb baby and good girl. She is a stand up comedian, improviser, and storyteller out of Portland, Oregon. Her comedy offers a narrative approach intricately weaving her transgender, queer, fat, and kinky identities with a dry and petty delivery. Other comedians have described her as a lovable shithead.

Accolades & Press

Ally J Ward has been featured on the Moth Grand Stage, and part of the Here to Pee and Big Happy comedy tours. In 2024 She was named one of the "Hottest Queer Comedians of Today" by Out Magazine as part of their Big Happy Comedy Tour. In 2025 the Portland Mercury named her an "Undisputable Genius of Comedy" and the Willamette Week named her Portland's Funniest Person, while its readers named her Portland's Best Comedian. She has hosted Dan Savage's HUMP Festival and has opened and featured for Alex Hooper, Ian Karmel, Juno Birch, and Rachel Scanlon of Two Dykes and a Mic.

Hear You Loud & Queer

Since May 2023, Hear You Loud & Queer has featured the best up & coming and established queer comedians in Portland and beyond. Every November we host the Big Trans Comedy Show in honor of Transgender Awareness Month. Monthly open mic (new venue TBD) and quarterly showcases at Show Bar! I co produce this show with Mack Lee, Moisés Araguaney, and Jess Kapinaris!

Lady Killers

Started in March 2025, Lady Killers is a monthly show where we highlight women and femmes in comedy as well as queer, trans, and nonbinary comedians. Co-hosted with Devan Daily, Lady Killers is every second Wednesday at Show Bar!
